Charles Scribner's Sons, or simply Scribner's or Scribner, is an American publisher based in New York City, known for publishing a number of American authors. The published Scribners magazine for years and hired artists such as Maxfield Parrish to do some covers. Maxfield Parrish (1870 – 1966) was an American painter and illustrator. He worked on commission on books, advertising campaigns, magazines, and even sculpture. He was famous for his "girls on rocks" but his work went well beyond that series.
