The Night Before Christmas
"A Visit from St. Nicholas", also known as "The Night Before Christmas" and "??'?Twas the Night Before Christmas" from its first line, is a poem first published anonymously in 1823, and later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who acknowledged authorship in 1837. Published by the Saalfield Publishing Company of Akron, Ohio in 1927. Illustrated by Frances Isabelle Lockwood Brundage (1854–1937). She was an American illustrator best known for her depictions of attractive and endearing children on postcards, valentines, calendars, and other ephemera published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Samuel Gabriel Company, and Saalfield Publishing.
